Outstanding History

"Before Elvis There was nothing, Life Happens when your making plans to do something else" John Lennon! Before "Outstanding" for a second there was The Illusions, but before that there is Carlos & Richard. Cousins with a dream of Rock n Roll fame, let me take you back to the days of smoking cigarettes and watching capt. Kangaroo. After a childhood of playing guitar, bagging, and competeing the year was 1982. Carlos & Richard formed The Illusions, together with Victor Moreno(guitar) Jesse Cardiel(keyboards). The goal was to make the best Rock n Roll music ever. In those days like for most bands, thier money was short the equipment junk and paying gigs a dream.(somethings never change) At the time a good drummer was scarse indeed, so with no other choice Carlos picked up the drums in 4 mos. and The Illusions were rocking!

As fate would have it, in late 1983 Carlos' little brother Steven passed away in a tragic accident. At that time The Gap Band had a hit song entitled "Outstanding", Steven was always singing it. So to Honor his little brother, Carlos changed the name of the band. Goodby to The Illusions, hello "Outstanding"

The bands complete history will no doubt be the subject of a book someday, so to keep it short sweet and interesting, heres the history of "Outstanding" in photos enjoy.

Outstanding has been rocking for 28 years. In addition to our own original music, we cover the classics from Elvis to The Beatles to Motown to Santana.
